"Okay, how about this? He can withstand one vampire, but not several. Let's say we caught him alone at some point. Wouldn't we be able to subdue him if you, I, Veronica, Lestat, and Ville were holding him?" Jake asked. Vince rubbed his chin. "Still, if something could go wrong I'd be in it real deep. I have more loyalty to him than to you, Jake. He gave me back my life, my independence. He brought me clothing and food, a nice car, a place to stay. More than I had before I met him, that's for sure," Vince said. "Independence? You're his slave. You are forced to do whatever he wants you to do because he's blackmailed you with fancy gifts. Don't you see? He didn't do it out of the goodness of his heart. He picked you because you were vulnerable, wishing for something to come along and save you. He saw his chance and he took it. And now he's got you under his thumb," Jake countered. "I didn't think of it that way. But the problem still remains. If he should find out I had something to do with it there's no telling what he'd do to me. He can find other ways of torture besides death, Jake, believe you me," Vince said. "What if he didn't know you were against him? What if you returned to him and pretended to be on his side, waiting for the rest of us to come and give you a hand?" Jake suggested. "I'm afraid he'd read my mind. He's done it before," Vince replied. Jake grinned from ear to ear. "There's something Lestat taught me that could be of help to you," he said. "You can block your thoughts?" Vince asked, amazed. "I can teach you, too, but I've got to be able to trust you. If I teach you, there's a possibility that you'd use it against me, against the rest of us," Jake said. Vince thought a moment. "It would be nice to have all this power to do with as I please, without William breathing down my neck all the time. I'd like to have a real conversation with you about Gwendolyn, and learn some things about her that weren't in her diary," Vince said. Jake's eyes welled at the thought of his sister. "I called her Gwen," he said quietly. "That's it. I'll do it. I don't need him, and it's not fair that he makes a living hunting vampires for his own ends," Vince said, knocking his fist against the table. But Jake was gazing off into space with a stunned look. "What's wrong?" Vince asked. "It's Veronica. Something's not right," Jake replied. "Veronica who?" Vince asked. "Never mind. There's no time. We have to go back to the hotel right now," Jake said. They left the coffee shop, and even with Vince's own supernatural abilities he had a hard time keeping up.
Jake nearly burst the door in when he reached the hotel room, Vince puffing behind him. For a moment it seemed surreal to Jake. This wasn't the first time he'd busted into a hotel room in a panic. He staggered on his feet, but the sight of Veronica in one piece steadied him. "Something's wrong! I can sense it. I'm not sure which of them it came from, but something's going on at Lydia and Ville's. They need us," Veronica said with wide eyes. "Let's go," Jake replied and the three of them headed for the car.

I forgot how fun this was! Join in at anytime everyone!
"...So the great vampire Lestat at last." William sneered, Lestat raised an golden eyebrow. "Yes? Did you want something or do you just like to say my name? It is a rather lovely title isn't it'?" William frowned and decided it best to keep him talking, Ville was much stronger than he had first guessed and although his wounds were healing fast he still needed time to recover if he was going to take down a vampire as powerful as Lestat. "I hear your the most powerful vampire in existence. Too bad you couldn't get here fast enough to save the brat's pet." Lestat's eyes hardened slightly before another look of amusement over took his face. "Funny how 'the brat' was m title. Now I'm afraid I'm a bit too mature to be a brat anymore, have to leave that up to Ville, whom I'm sure you've met. Oh and just so you know, honeybunch, I know that your trying to stall me from burning you into black, sticky goop...but I liked Marian too much to do that to her kitchen she worked so hard on. So in her memory would you kindly step outside so I can kill you there? Sure there will be a black spot on the glass but of course it will grow back over time," He paused a moment, "Or maybe not, I'm not sure." William blinked, he'd read the books and heard the tales but until now he hadn't really understood just how mad Lestat was. "Mad, eh? I've always loved that word. Mad. Its truly lovely in the sense you can use to derbrie two completely different things. Insanity and anger...hm, mad. I think that's my new word...Mad." Lestat let the word repeatedly roll off his tongue. William was almost back to his full strengthen and knew it was now or never...he pulled out the specially made netting that costed him a fourcten...but the prize it would capture was worth so much more.... Lestat of course, simply moved behind him and bent both his arms behind his back. William didn't give up, he twisted around to face him, breaking both his arms himself, gathered his mind power and used it to break free from his grip. It worked and in just enough time he rolled under the table and relocated his shoulders in one movement, grabbing the net and rolling back out. "My, this will be fun." Lestat chuckled,
Meanwhile Ville woke up to Mana pulling on his arm. Her cries growing more hoarse by the second. She squealed with joy and wrapped her tinny arms around his neck. "Daddy!" She didn't even think to call him 'Fluffy'. In those moments he was only 'Daddy'. Ville looked around and saw he was outside hidden in the thorn brushes. His first reaction was to hug and kiss Mana, than he knew he had to go back up there and get Lydia....Even if she was...maybe he could still save her... "Sweetheart, Fluffy is going to go get Mama...ok?" Mana shook her head, tears still pouring down her red face. "NO! Scarry man hurt Mama! She won't wake up!!! I don't want you to not wake up!" Ville's heart panged in unbearable agony again. "No, that will not happen. Mama will be ok, I will be fine. I promise I'll be back and that I'll bring back Mama." Mana bit her lip and nodded. "Stay here, I love you." He kissed her cheeks again before standing. "I love you too, Daddy." He smiled sadly, "Call me Fluffy," Mana giggled though her tears. "Alright, Fluffy...now go get my Mama!!!" She pointed towards the house. Ville saluted her before running up the hill, though the gardens as fast as he could.
Lestat and William were both still in full battle, neither getting the upper hand. Once the one was wounded they'd heal and so on and so forth. The house was in pieces when Ville crept though it, avoiding the fight and made his way to what use to be the kitchen. There on the floor Lydia still laid, with a small pool of blood around her head. The sweet fading scent of life tingled his senses and he could hear the soft, faint beating of her heart!
He rushed to her side and carefully rolled her onto her back. Her chest was rising and falling very very slowly. Her forehead was bused black and a trail of blood ran from her mouth down her chin. Ville closed his eyes and lifted her chest to his face. He saw that she was slowly bleeding to death internally, and her back was broken. First he bit into his wrist and used his blood to heal the open wounds on her head, than he gently lifted her into his arms and carried her outside. He made it to the circler rose garden, near the pound and laid her down on the grass. His mind was racing on what o do. If he tried to take her to the hospital she might die on the way, if he turned her she might hate him forever. What could he do?
"Lydia, darling, please...tell me what you want." He pleaded, blood tears falling on her pale cracked lips. A pink tongue darted out to lick them clean and she moaned in pain. He took that as a sign. He tore his teeth into his wrist, and pressed the gushing wound to her open mouth. She begain to suck, greedily. Ville gasped, and closed his eyes against the intense pleasure. He'd shared his blood with her before, but never more than a table spoon. This was a whole new experience. After a few moments, it became slightly uncomfortable, he was losing over half of his blood and the pain soon grew to a sharp stink all over his body.
Lydia let go of his wrist and gasped for breath herself. She could feel the life in Ville's blood filling her, restoring her. She felt it rush though her veins and pump though her heart. Soon all the pain was gone from her broken limps, but a newer, more intense pain replaced it. She screamed and her back arched, before she fell into herself. It was gone. Lydia slowly opened her eyes and saw Ville smiling down at her. He pulled her into his arms and they embraced. "I'm sorry," Ville whispered, looking into his lover's eyes as if it was the first. He reached up tp feel her skin, still warm with lingering life. "I know, but I forgive you." She kissed him sweetly and they held each other again.

*I know. I really enjoy writing like this*
Behind them they heard a soft gasp. Veronica stood with her hand to her mouth. "She was dying," Ville explained. "I didn't know what else to do." "I'm okay, really. In a way, this was what I always wanted," Lydia assured him. Jake came up behind Veronica and put a hand on her shoulder. Vince stood alone and apart, unsure what to do. He shyly dug his toe into the dirt. "Where's Lestat?" Jake asked. Ville pointed toward the house. "They've been battling for over fifteen minutes in there." Jake swore and turned to Vince, who looked up and nodded eagerly. "What is that man doing on my property?" Lydia asked, and the others could hear the new life in her voice and seeing her eyes flash as theirs did was disconcerting. "He's seen the error of his ways. He wants to help us get rid of William," Veronica said. "William? That man in there?" Lydia asked and they nodded. "Someone has to stay with Mana," Veronica said. "Lydia can. She's not familiar with her power yet. That will take some time," Ville said, and Lydia nodded understandingly. "Let's go get the bastard," Jake said, and they headed for the house as Lydia wrapped the crying Mana in her arms.
"We can go like this all night," Lestat said acidly to William's crumpled form on the floor. "Good. I'm ready for it," William sneered. At that point, William kicked out a leg with extreme force and knocked the surprised Lestat to his backside. Enraged, Lestat lunged for William's body on the floor, but William threw the net over him and wound it tightly as quickly as possible. "This is spun steel," William spat as Lestat thrashed in the net. "You can't escape it." "That's where you're wrong," Lestat countered, but he still continued to struggle. William stood as the last ligaments under his flesh connected themselves. He brushed the sweat from his forehead and straigtened his jacket. It was then that Jake, Veronica, Ville, and Vince emerged from the other room. William was taken aback, but when he saw Vince he felt hope again. "Vince! Help me get these vampires! They may be all we need to get everlasting life!" he cried. Vince shook his head. "No more," he growled. "What? What the hell are you talking about?" William demanded. "You've got your powers. You don't need to keep stealing what's not yours," William said. "Oh, Mr. Righteous now, are we? Tell me, who was it that facilitated your own power? I'm sure your friends know where you got it from," William said. When the other vampires looked at Vince William feigned surprise. "Oh? You mean they don't know? You haven't divulged the secret to how we are what we are, have you? Well, let me tell them for you. You see, I capture vampires and take them to my lab. I drain them of all their blood, and eventually use it along with another ingredient to give me all the power of the vampires and still enjoy a mortal life. When I become immortal I will have all your power and be able to enjoy the pleasures of food, daylight, and women," William said smugly. "What?" Veronica asked shakily. "Yes dear. It's all true. And Vince is no stranger to the benefits of my creation, are you old pal?" William asked. "That's in the past. I'd give it all up now if I could," Vince said. "He'd give it up. Sure, you'll give it up. Because I'm going to kill you slowly later," William sneered. Jake took a lunge at William, but he swung one powerful arm and threw such a punch to Jake's face that the crack of bone was heard just before he fell limp to the floor and Veronica screamed. "Who's next?" William asked. Two powerful hands reached around and grabbed William's head, snapping the neck in on quick motion and William fell to the floor, right at Lestat's feet. "Damn fool talked so much he didn't even realize I'd made it out of his foolproof net," Lestat said. Normally, they would have laughed, but Ville immediately grapped the body and began to drag it outside. "We'll burn it," he said over his shoulder. Lestat followed him closely. Veronica ran to Jake's side and grabbed his hand, sobbing. Vince only stood and watched her, mouth agape. He watched as Veronica bit into her own flesh and allowed the blood to spill over Jake's face. The sound of reconstructing bone and flesh was heard and she began to breathe easier. "Jake?" she whispered. "Can you hear me?" His eyes fluttered and he looked up into hers. For a moment he was sure he saw Bridget's face. But slowly the vision faded until he recognized Veronica peering at him eagerly, his hand clutched to her breast. She smiled and began to cry again when she saw him smile weakly. He gently pulled his hand from between hers and reached to her with both arms. She leaned down for the hug and was surprised when his lips met hers and he kissed her hungrily. She pulled her face away, her cheeks blazing with the blood running swiftly through the vein. "Help me up?" he asked quietly, and she did so. He ran his hands over his face. Then he took a breath and looking at Vince, said, "God damn, that hurt!" VInce laughed with relief. He'd been so afraid that the others would hate him forever when they learned what he'd been an accomplice to.
They all watched the smoke rising from the body. Lestat stood with his arms crossed and a bratty look on his face, as though he'd won some silly argument. Ville clutched Lydia and Mana in his arms, his face buried between the two of them as he crooned songs. Vince stood once again apart, not sure whether he should celebrate or be afraid. He knew what he had to do, but there might be others they had yet to deal with. Jake stood close to Veronica. What she had been wanting may just have happened but her own shyness kept her from indulging more. She was content to watch the fire flicker over Jake's face and ever so often he looked at her in a way he had never done before. When the fire became ashes, Ville scattered them throughout the grass and then doused them with water to allow them to sink into the soil. "Great. We have to have that in our yard, now," Lydia said and they all laughed. Lestat turned abruptly to Vince. "You have to show us the lab so we can destroy it," he said. Vince nodded. "There's something else," he said. "What?" Ville asked. "Well, uh...I don't exactly how to tell you this. But I'm not the only one who was working for William. He always mentioned having hired others. I don't know how many. Could be three. Could be thirty," he said in a rush. Lestat swore, causing Vince to wince and look at him meekly. "Well, I guess we have more work to do," Lestat sighed.

Come on! more people join in!
Louis sighed in satinfation, he was had just took a nice hot bath, he had fed well the preouis night so he was content, and Lestat had been gone to vist Ville and Lydia. He was realxing and reading in the pallor of thier flat. It was a book he'd just bought that day called: 'Cliera' by Clive Barker. Very gory in parts, but the story was so complex. He was quite enjoying it. Than there came the knock at the door. Louis frowned, hadn't the gards that Lestat paid kept them out? He just wannted some peace until Lestat returned. He sighed and stood from his comforty chair and made his way to the door. He opened it to see it there was no one there. As he turned around he saw a woman with long blonde hair and dark black eyes looking back at him. She was leaning againtist his book case and she was smriking. "Louis, I presume?" Louis frowned, and nodded. "Good, Willaim will be pleased."

"William?" Louis asked uncertainly. She only nodded in return. Louis' resolve recovered from his initial shock. "What are you doing in my house?" he demanded. "I'm picking you up," she said with a simple shrug of the shoulders. "I'm bringing you to a man who seeks you. That's all." "And if I refuse to go?" Louis asked. Behind her stepped two others, a beautiful redhead with gleaming green eyes, and a tall dark-haired man. The blonde chuckled. "I don't think that's an option," she replied.
The vampires were bedding down for the day after their ordeal. Lydia was thankful that she'd adjusted herself to the nocturnal routine of the others because now it was imperative that she follow it. She allowed herself to be curled up in Ville's arms while Mana slept soundly in a bed nearby. She was content and happy. But Ville was feeling guilty for stealing the sun from her and elliminating the chance of her ever having children of her own. As Lydia fell asleep she didn't notice his silent tears.
Vince was given a room to share with Lestat so he could keep an eye on the mortal newcomer. "It isn't you. We've had problems with so-called friends in the past," Lestat said with a careless wave of his hand. Lestat purposefully neglected to mention to Vince that he could do anything during the day completely without Lestat ever noticing. Probably best he not know.
Veronica sat upright, her back against the wall, as she stroked Jake's hair in her lap. He lay his head there after complaining that he still had a headache from his crushed skull. She hummed her favorite songs to him until he fell asleep long before she did. The both slept soundly in that position all day.

The next evening everyone was awoken by a horrible noise.
"I'M HUNNGRY!" Mana shouted standing at the foot of Ville and Lydia's bed. Ville sat up and raised an eyebrow, Lydia moaned and buried her face deeper into the sheets mumbling, "Me too," She held her belly and rolled out of bed, Ville stood and helped her up. "Mama, I'm hungry!" Mana pulled on the end of her dress, Lydia waved her hand at her. "Not now, sweetheart, Mama is not feeling well. Go find Auntie Veronica and get her to fix you something." Mana saluted them before running out of the room and down the hall. Ville looked back to his wife, she was still completing the change. "What are you feeling?" he asked softly, "Thirsty, my throat feels like sandpaper. My tummy feels like it's turning inside out." Ville nodded and helped her over to the bathroom. "Your body is flushing it's self of your human fluids, you should probably sit in the tub." After undressing they stepped into the bathtub, and Ville turned on the shower, letting the hot water run over both their bodies. He held her while she cried from the pain and sang to her this song:
"Oh girl we are the same, We are lost and so afraid With souls to be saved And faith regained All our tears wiped away
In joy and sorrow Your home's in my arms In this world so hallow It's breaking my heart
Oh girl we are the same We are strong and so brave With souls left to save And Faith regained All our fears seem to fade."
Lydia stopped sobbing as her body relaxed and she sighed. "I think it's over," Ville whispered, kissing her neck. "I hope so," she whimpered, and snuggled closer into his chest, everything felt so different, yet the same now. She could see flaws in the ceiling ties, hear Veronica down stairs messing with pots and pans and Mana singing happily picking flowers outside. Lydia could even hear the roots being ripped from the cold soil, she glanced up at Ville. "I'm still thirsty," He smiled and held her head to his neck. "No, you already need to feed yourself." Lydia remembered from the books that making a vampire took a lot out of you. "I'm fine, we'll feed more later, but right now your hurting." Lydia sighed in defeat and felt her new fangs against her lips for the first time, she gently sank them into his flesh and shuddered as the blood touched her tongue and ran down her throat. Ville sighed and wrapped his arms around her tightly, fighting away the tears waiting to fall.
While Mana ate, Veronica and Jake watched her in admiration. She was no doubt going to be a beautiful woman someday, her light honey colored hair was already darkening each day and her eyes shone with more green and blue than the old gold they were only weeks before. It was as if she was becoming more Lydia and Ville's child everyday. She paused for a moment, spoonful of steaming oats and raisins hovering in front of her cupid's bow lips. "Why are you lookin' at me like twat?" Jake chuckled and Veronica's mouth dropped open. "Don't you mean 'That'?" She asked, her eyes wide. Mana frowned and nodded, "Yes, Twat." Jake chuckled again and Veronica gave him a stern look, he turned red trying not to laugh again as Mana happily made up a song about her new favorite word: 'twat'. At that moment Lestat entered the room, he glanced at Mana and an evil look appeared on his face. Jake became serious, "Lestat please don't encourage her, we're baby-sitting so Ville could take Lydia hunting, and we'd like to be able to do it again sometime." Lestat looked hurt, "Aw, why would I do such a naughty thing to such a innocent?" He padded Mana's head as she continued to sing, she stopped and looked up at him. "Because you are naughty, uncle Lestat!" She giggled, Lestat's face fell while they laughed.
I know I'm kind of spacing off, but I was hopping you can pull the plot back in for me

*No problem. All parts of the story are good*
Lestat became serious. "We have work to do today," he said. Jake sighed with the weight of it all and his eyes drifted slugglishly over Lestat's shoulder to where Vince leaned against a wall with his hands in his pockets and an apologetic look on his face. "We have to find out where this lab is," he said finally. Vince said nothing. "Not only that. We might have others to contend with, like him," Lestat said and cocked his head in Vince's direction. Veronica addressed Vince. "Are there others who were as strong as William? Or just with your strength?" she asked. Vince shook his head sadly. "I was never given any information about the others. Any questions I asked were just waved away. William and I didn't talk much. I just did as I was told," he replied. "I wonder why," Lestat snorted. "Actually, I do wonder why. Why were you working for him?" Jake asked. "You don't know? The power, the money," Veronica said. Vince shook his head. "It was more than that," he said. Jake spread his hands in a questioning gesture. Vince let the story out from the beginning as if letting out a long-held breath. He began with being on the streets, how William had come to him with promises of food and shelter. How he'd been shown the lab, the dying vampire, and how he'd been given the powers. All of his conversations with William, including that of Gwen. As he spoke of the diary he glanced sheepishly at Jake, but Jake only watched stoicly. He ended with his desire to speak to Jake of other things rather than destroy him, and how William had really only wanted to trap Lestat. "The bastard," Lestat said, but there was humor in his voice. "I was afraid of telling you this because I thought you'd see me as an enemy. A mortal with stolen powers," he said. "But you weren't the thief. William was. You only receieved stolen goods," Veronica said gently. "It doesn't matter. I've searched your mind, and it's in the right place," Lestat said, to settle the matter. Jake roused himself as if from a stupor. "I guess the only thing to do now is to find out where the others are hiding and see where their hearts lie. And destroy the lab so no one does it again," he said. "There's a problem with that logic. And we've stumbled onto a bigger problem than that," Veronica said and bit her lip. "What?" Jake asked, but Lestat was already nodding in agreement. "These people may have stolen the power from vampires. But we steal blood from mortals every night. If they should want to protect the lab, and to protect their right to create more like them, what right have we to say that they can't? No one tells us that we can't exist as vampires, or dares to try because we wouldn't allow it. And now we want to tell these people that they can't exist for basically the same reason?" Veronica asked. Jake opened his mouth to speak, and then closed it. They all stared at one another in silence while Mana ate, oblivious.
The redhead watched Louis nonchalantly as they sat in the back of the large, black car speeding down the highway. Louis was bound with heavy chains and ropes, all things that if he tried hard enough he could break free of. But the curiosity held him back. He mentioned this offhandedly to the redhead as she twirled the keys in her hand. She chuckled. "Why don't you, then?" she asked almost lazily. "I want to find out what you are, and where you're taking me," he replied. "What I am? A mortal. And where we're taking you? Someplace you don't want to be," she said. "You're not merely a mortal. There's something very different about you. And the others," Louis said, and he indicated with his head the blonde and dark-haired man in the front seat. The redhead smiled. She'd be beautiful if there wasn't something so murderous in her eyes. "It'll all become clear soon enough. Our job is merely to bring you to William. He takes care of the rest," she said.

Lydia's heart pounded as she gazed down at the young man she'd just drank from. He was dying-slowly. She had stopped too soon out of fear and now the man was suffering, not to say he didn't deserve it. She had picked him out for his thoughts were red with blood, in short, he was not a good man. Yet the image that lay before her, while she swooned from the flesh, warm life coursing though her, was making her sick. The man moaned and tried to speak, his body convulsed. Ville knelt and snapped his neck, than stood putting his had on Lydia's shoulder as she still looked apron the dead body. "I should have warned you, sometimes stopping too soon is worse than not stopping." Ville's eyes darkened and Lydia's heart ached for him, no doubt he was thinking of his first kill. A story she had yet to hear, but knew he had deeply scared him. Another thing he shared with Louis, Louis, Lydia thought. It had been so long since she had seen him. Oh how she wished she didn't have to see the look of pain and disappoint his face would show once he saw she was no longer human-That he had failed his sister again. Lydia spat at the corpse and turned her back away, Ville's arm moved to her waist as they walked together, a couple both beautiful, pale and cold, now finally together: forever.
As they returned home, the talk about what to do next was still a heated dissention when they entered the room. Everyone fell quiet, Jake would not look at her, Veronica smiled sadly, Vince raised an eyebrow, Mana was fast asleep on the couch, her thumb in her mouth and Lestat was indifferent, but it grew into his classic fanged smirk. He stood in front of her and nodded. "I knew you'd make a perfect vampire. Look at you! Your gorgeous, darling!" He grabbed her face with both hands and pressed his lips to hers, Ville made an 'huff' sound and put his hand on Lestat to push him back after a moment. "All in good fun, my beautiful idiot." Lestat said mockingly, he ruffled Ville's curls as the younger vampire glared at him. "Back to what we do now, Vince are you going to offer us any useful info or do I have to slowly pull it from you, I could and would with a smile. But that's so messy and we're already going to have a hell of a clean up- so just nod your head now, go on." Vince-frozen with fear-slowly nodded. As scared as he was of William, now he new true terror with Lestat, he had beaten him hadn't he? "Alright but I've told you all pretty much all I know, I can't remember exactly where the lab is!" Lestat stared into his eyes long and hard. "Maybe he's telling the truth," Veronica offered. At that moment Mana's eyes opened and once again all was quiet. Lydia came up to Mana and her eyes scanned her mother's face. Her little arms reached up and Lydia held her to her heart. "You're like Fluffy and the others now aren't you Mama?" She asked innocently. Lydia nodded and kissed her cheeks. "Yes, but that doesn't mean I love you any less," She spoke softly, Mana smiled and relaxed in her arms. "I love you too, Mama. oh and Fluffy too!" Lydia looked over at Ville who started to walk over. Mana squealed seeing 'Fluffy' and all but jumped out of Lydia's arms into his. Once she was fast asleep against his chest, they begin to talk again. Jake spoke: "Where do we go from here? Simply retrace William's steps?" "That may be the best bet," Ville agreed. Lestat thought it over. "Let's fallow deaths," "Deaths?" Lydia raised her eyebrow. "Yes, well immortal ones of course. We hack into the FBI's crime flies and look for resent deaths that the victim was pure ash and there was no sigh of a fire." "As if it's that easy,:" Vince commented sarcastically. Lestat shut him up with a stern look. "We start tomorrow." He turned to leave when suddenly froze, than turned back around, his face relaxed. "Change of plans, they have Louis, we fallow the trail tomorrow." Everyone was confused. "How do you know that?" Jake asked. "Because one of them just told me and they are not lying."

They weren't far from the lab now. Louis had managed to get the blonde to say more than the redhead. She'd told him that they were taking him to William's laboratory for what she called, "experiments." "I just hope he's willing to give me some of the goods this time," the redhead puffed. "He always gives it to Corinne first," she added. "Corinne?" Louis asked tiredly. The blonde girl waved her hand at him and smiled. "That's me," she said. She laid a hand on the man's dark head as he drove. "This is Ricky. And that's Alma," she said, indicating the redhead. "He doesn't need to know my name," the redhead spat. "Too late now," Corinne said with a shrug. "So you work for this William, is that what's going on?" Louis asked. "Yes," Alma said curtly. "Why? What is he offering you?" Louis asked. "He hasn't offered. He's given. Money. Power. All in exchange for little jobs like this. Although I have to say we get the better end of the deal. His 'tasks' are easy enough to accomplish," Corinne snorted. "Easy? I wouldn't be so proud if were you. I only abide by this because I'm curious," Louis warned. "That's what you keep saying. But if you knew what I knew you'd want to get out of here now," Alma said. "And what have I to be afraid of? Powerful or not, you are all still mortal and easily killed," Louis said. Alma made a 'tsk tsk' sound and glanced at Corinne. "Maybe more difficult than you imagine," Ricky said, speaking for the first time. "So he has a voice," Louis said, pretending to be impressed. "Yes, and I'd prefer you stop using yours. Just be quiet and let us do our job," Ricky replied. Louis smirked, but he said nothing.
The next night, the vampires awoke and gathered together to make a plan. "Lydia should stay with Mana. Mana depends on her, and Lydia is so new that she ought to just experiment with her powers for awhile before tackling any monsters," Lestat said. "I'll stay and protect them," Ville said, putting a comforting arm over Lydia's shoulders. "The rest of us will go. We don't know how many there are. Could take all of us to defeat them," Lestat said. "We can take the car," Jake offered and held up his keys.
Not long after, Jake drove the convertible down the road, Veronica in the passenger seat and Lestat and Vince in the back. Ville had reminded Lestat that if things got too tough he could always call on him to come help. Lestat had patted his shoulder and agreed. "You have a radio in this car and don't use it," Lestat complained. Jake looked at him through the rearview. "I use it all the time," he said. "Then turn it on!" Lestat said, waving his hand impatiently. Jake pushed a knob and the music blared out violently. "Sorry!" he called over the noise and turned it down. Lestat patted his hands distractedly to the beat. Vince sat nervously with his hands between his knees in a juvenile manner. His fear was evident. Veronica turned in the seat and placed her crossed her arms over the headrest. She smiled kindly at Vince. "It's okay, you know. We got William. We can get the rest." "But William was only one person. Sure, he was probably worth two or three of me, but what if we have twenty? Fifty?" he asked worriedly. "A hundred?" Lestat mocked. "I'll eat them all," he said and broke into a laughing fit. "Maybe they'll be eating you," Vince said, but he didn't say it in an accusatory way. He was genuinely concerned. "No sense thinking of that now. Best to just relax and watch the scenery go by," Jake said. "Veronica's hair was blowing around her face like a halo, and she wiped it away impatiently and turned back around. Jake turned the knob on the volume back up at the beginning of a new song. He began to sing with it. Vince knew the words, but he didn't sing. His heart wasn't in it. But Veronica joined in. Lestat sat musing in the back seat, his blonde hair whipping his face and eyes. He was worried about Louis.

*I guess I'll continue. Someone has to keep this story alive.*
It was bigger and far more sophisticated than Lestat had expected. He let a little whistle escape his lips as he examined the fine equipment around him. "It's like horrific perfection. So much professionalism and such a terrifying task," Veronica mused quietly. "Where did he learn all of this?" Jake asked. Vince shrugged. "I was never given any particulars. I guess William's life is a secret forever now." "Unless he's got an understudy somewhere. Someone who is supposed to take over if anything should happen to William," Lestat said. "I don't know if he'd do that. He was so selfish about wanting absolute power with all the privileges of being human. I don't think he's want to share with anyone," Vince said. "Perhaps not. But I'm sure he made plans for what should be done if the worst occurs. Would he want his students to be left without a thing to do?" Lestat said. "Did he plan for anyone to carry on this work after his death?" Jake asked. "He didn't plan to die," Vince said simply. Lestat straightened up. "Well, enough prattle. Obviously the place isn't being protected or we'd be attacked by now. So the only thing left to do is destroy it and then figure out what to do with William's fledgelings," he said. "How do we want to destroy it?" Jake asked. Lestat's answer was simply to use his power of mind to ignite a corner of the room. The flames began quietly, but soon picked up with their preternatural fuel. Veronica reached out to Lestat. "We don't want to bring a lot of attention to this," she warned. "All this equipment? Chemicals? Bunson burners? The authorities will be easily fooled. There's plenty of reason why this stuff should go up in flames on its own," Lestat said.
"Look!" Corinne cried, pointing up ahead. Louis strained his head to see along with the others. "It's on fire!" Ricky cried. He planted his foot firmly on the gas pedal and they zoomed forward, heading for the building. Smoke pitched out of the top of the building, where the lab was located. "So much for the experiment, hm?" Louis asked lazily. "Why is it on fire?" Alma demanded, turning on him. Louis held up his hands. "I know no more than you," he said. "He knows something else. I can feel it," Ricky said. Louis caught his eye in the rearview mirror. But he said nothing. "You know something about this?" Corinne asked. "Well, no. But I have a hunch," he said. There was silence for a moment. "What?" Alma demanded finally. Louis chuckled. "Lestat."

Sorry it's been a while..
Lestat paused as they stepped outside. Veronica glanced at Jake with confusion. "I feel them too, Lestat." Jake spoke as Lestat turned to William who was standing aloof, trying to pretend he wasn't there. "You. Drive. Now." William ran to the car and before they knew it was speeding down the road. Veronica's face twisted, "Why the hell did you chase him off like that?" "We could have used his knowledge more," Jake agreed. "The kidnappers are a few minutes away from here, if they see the car leaving they will come here unprepared. For now we hide." With that he ran into the thick brushes and they fallowed, still slightly put off by his habit of making last minute plans. Together they watched the building burn and waited.
"Damn them!" shouted Alma, Corinne and Ricky both rolled their eyes. "What do we do now?" Ricky asked, miserably. Corinne became panicked. "William's going to kill us!" Alma growled, "William's dead, the vampire Lestat has killed him." Ricky's eyes widened. "How do you know that?" "Because he sent me the images, they are not lies." Corinne moaned, "Oh why! Great now what?" At that moment they each saw a car zooming away from the house. "Let's fallow the bastard!" Ricky shouted, grabbing a hold of the wheel. Louis spoke up, "That would not be wise." Alma's eyes narrowed at him. "Why should we believe you?" "Because Lestat has three vampires that are all quite powerful with him. If he took down this 'William' than they will do away with all three of you in a heart beat." They all fell silent. "We should go see if we can contain the fire and try to save as much data as we can." Alma said, brushing her long fingers though her flaming hair. She was the leader, Louis noted. They neared the smoking flames and Louis knew that Jake and Veronica were waiting with Lestat.
Mana sat bolt up screaming, Lydia tried to calm her but she was so upset she ran right outside and into the garden. As her mother ran after her Mana tipped over a rock and cried harder, holding her bruised knee. Then a black, flaking claw covered her mouth and as her eyes widened in horror at what she saw, her small body was dragged into the think brushes. The monster, for Mana could only think that such an inhuman thing was such, was black and red and the rough shape of a man with no lower half. The face was only a mouth filled with sharp browned teeth and two blood red eyes. Then to her horror-it spoke in dry cracked voice. "Such a good girl to come when need her." Mana tried to scream as the creature attempted to bite her shoulder.

Lydia screeched when she saw Mana in the arms of the hideous mass that was once William. Ville, having heard the cries, was not far behind her. He swore savagely when he saw William. Lydia and Ville pounced on the heap of ash. They managed to wrench Mana away, who was at this point screaming at the top of her lungs. William howled and tried to reach her, but without his lower half it was no use. "If you have a brain at all you will help me live!" his scratchy voice rasped. "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't light you afire for the second time," Ville growled. "Kill him," Lydia said darkly as she clutched Mana to her waist. William put up a hand. "Your lives depend on listening to what I have to say!" he cried. "Spit it out, then!" Ville said. William took a breath. "I can't tell you all of it without blood to drink," he said. "Bullshit! Now tell us or I swear I'll torch you here and now!" Ville roared. His unwillingness to comply made William pause. He was so sure he'd be able to intimidate the young vampires. But it wasn't working. He tried plan B. "Okay. I'll tell you. You probably know by now that I have a small band of followers, of which Vince used to be a member before he betrayed me. But they are not the problem. They can be killed easily. But of course I knew that I'd be a big target if vampires ever found out about my existence. I wanted to preserve my work, and also give myself a way out if something should happen to me. So I gave powers equal to my own to another mortal being. She holds all my secrets, and is as powerful as I am. But she lives on the other side of the globe. If you kill me, you will never know her whereabouts. And my work will continue under her watchful eye," William said. "You're a liar," Lydia whispered. "No, it's true. I can give you her name, her address, everything. If you will just spare my life," William offered. "Why would you sell her out?" Ville asked. William chuckled, a ghastly sound in his ashy throat. "Remember who you are speaking to," he said.
The car pulled up to the burning building. Sirens echoed in the distance, as fire trucks made their way to fight the blaze. "What do we do?" Corinne asked, wringing her hands. "Try to grab as much stuff as possible," Alma said as she jumped out of the car and ran toward the building. Ricky followed close behind. But Corinne sat trembling in the car, keeping an eye on Louis. "Can't you release me now? William is dead, he no longer needs me," Louis said. "I can't do anything until they tell me to," she replied. "Why? Aren't you just as powerful as they are?" he asked. "Maybe. I've never tested my powers against theirs. We were forbidden by William to talk to each other about what powers he'd given us and how much vampiric blood. Afraid we'd argue, I guess, if someone got more than the others. But I think Vince was his favorite," Corinne replied. "Who is Vince?" Louis asked. "His newest. We were never allowed to speak to Vince, not even to meet him. And as far as I know, Vince knows nothing of the three of us. I think William kept him from us because he was planning to give him even more power than he gave us," Corinne said. Louis mulled this over, wondering if he could use it in some way. "Where is Vince now?" he asked. Corinne shook her head. "I don't know."
Vince sped down the highway a few miles before realizing that no one was following him. He had no idea what to do next, so he pulled off onto an exit and went to find the nearest all-night diner. Even after all he'd been through, he was starving. The pretty waitress smiled at him as she took his order. He resolved to give her a large tip. He sat sipping his coffee, hoping the others wouldn't be angry that he'd taken this time to eat something. How was he supposed to know what to do next? Lestat had only told him to drive, and drive he had. Now what? Obviously William's minions weren't following him. Which was probably part of Lestat's plan. But he felt a little useless as he sat sipping coffee and reading yesterday's paper.

Corinne went off to think about things, just a little bit down the drive way. She knew that Alma would be pissed at her later for wandering off and not helping out but she wasn't too interested in persevering William's work anymore. She didn't even want to keep going along after she learned how William gave her powers. She knew that the only reason he had chosen her was that he hoped she would be his mistress, Alma was promised next to power and William had told her that she would be his wife. Corinne was just a stupid freshmen in collage trying to figure out what she wanted to do wit her life. She just happened to be taking the same class with Ricky and Alma, that was taught by William. In the class he talked about history and myth and he made it seem as if he had lived though each area he talked about. Corinne being young and foolish fell right under his spell, it took a while before she figured it out but learning she was just a toy to him in Alma's shadow really opened her eyes the rest of William's evil plan. Sighing to herself she looked up at the sky and wondered if it would be possible for her to ever go back to her life. At that moment Vince slowly crept up on the drive way, he stopped at the bottom and left the car. He hadn't even noticed Corinne staring at him.
William thrashed around wildly, his own net coming in handy by keeping him under control. "I need blood! Being this close to death has caused the deformities in the blood to recontect." He yelled. Lydia frowned, "So your saying your a full vampire now?" "Yes! I need blood!" Ville knelt in front of him. "I'll let you feed from me if you'll shut up until we can find a human for you." "What!? Ville your too weak, you already lost enough blood from me..." Lydia plead. "But if he dies we'll never find out how to find the other one and stop this from happening again." She sat next to him. "I'll let him take the blood from me, you go check on Mana." Ville's eyes narrowed at William. "Are you sure?" Lydia nodded and kissed his cheek.

Corinne watched Vince's figure as he moved along the drive, looking every which way. It had been nearly an hour since he'd stopped at the diner, and he'd returned to see if there was anything else the others wanted of him. But they were nowhere to be seen. Suddenly a pair of strong hands whipped him into the brush, away from the blaze of light created by the fire. "She saw you," Jake's voice hissed. "Who?" Vince asked as he tried to calm his pounding heart. "One of the females that was with William's group," Veronica's voice said from his other side. "Does she know you?" Jake asked. "No. I never met any of them," Vince said. Jake loosened his hold and the three of them watched from the bushes. "Where's Lestat?" Vince asked, and all he saw was the gleam from JaKe's teeth as he smiled.
"Psst! Louis!" Lestat hissed at the window. Louis sat up, free from his bonds, and peered into a familiar face. "What the hell have you gotten yourself into this time?" Louis asked. "Haven't you realized the futility of such a question after so many years?" Lestat said snidely. "Why are you still sitting in their car when you're free?" "I wanted to see what would happen next," Louis replied with a shrug. Lestat rolled his eyes and opened the door. "Hurry, we' haven't got much time," he said.
Alma and Ricky could make it no higher than three floors up. It was now impossible to save William's lab. They rushed back out into the darkness. The sound of the sirens grew deafening to their sensitive ears as the fire department arrived on scene. Alma ran back and grabbed Corinne's arm. "Wait!" Corinne cried. "I saw-" "Never mind what you saw," Alma cut in fiercely. "The last people we want to run into are the police!" The three of them fled into the trees nearby.
Vince hopped into the car with Jake and Veronica. Lestat and Louis were not far behind. They sped away just as the firefighters began to douse the blaze. "Did they see us?" Vince asked. "Naw, I don't think so," Jake replied. "So this chase has to continue elsewhere. I was hoping we could catch them here, but when the damn mortals get involved..."Lestat complained. "You'll get your chance," Louis said.

Alma fumed as her grip grew tighter on Corinne's arm. The younger woman twisted to get free, finding that her strength was in fact as strong as Alma's enough so that she broke away, stumbling against Ricky who was watching the firefighters.
"Would you lay off her, Alma? now that William is dead what makes you think your still in charge?" Ricky questioned, turning towards her. Alma glared at him and placed her hands on her hips. "Oh and just what are you talking about? William meant us to act as one. He didn't favor me-" "Just cut the crap, red bitch, we all know who William was fucking." He sneered turning his head away. Alma growled and punched him in the gut, Ricky doubled over and groaned. "Leave him alone!" Corinne shouted, pushing her into a tree. Ricky huffed and stood up straight. "Let's just go, Corinne, there's no reason why we need to fallow her anymore. William was just using us, he was never going to give us immortality anway." Corinne slamed Alma into the tree again before letting her fall to the forest floor. "You can't leave! we're...not human...we're better, we can...we have to complete his work. I can figure it out! Yes! I know how we can live forever!" Alma madly ranted to herself as Ricky and Corinne walked away towards thier car. "About about Louis?" Corinne asked, Ricky paused seeing that no one was in the car. "Well, it seems he's gone." She smiled. "Good," As they both entered the car and Ricky started it up, he turned to her and asked, "Where to?" Corinne looked in the mirror and ran her figers though her hair. "Do you still have William's bank account number?" Ricky grinned. "Then, I'ce always wannted to see London." He nodded, "London it is."
After William had drank his fill Lydia losened his chains as he had asked and went to go check on Mana and Ville. Before she left the room William called out to her. "Are you happy now that your just as dead and evil as your loved ones?" Lydia narrowed her eyes at the burnt remains of the thing that tried to destory everything she loved. "Yes I am, but if I were you I wouldn't judge so hastly. If Lestat hears you saying 'Evil' it may give him some ideas..." William's form shuddered and went quiet. Lydia smiled softy and left the room.
