Okay, so in order to try to get the ball rolling a bit on this contest, I've tried to gather together any rules that might be helpful. If anyone who is a moderator of this forum has issues with any of these rules, please feel free to alter them.
1. All photos MUST be taken by the person submitting them. Any photo submitted that has not been taken by the person submitting it is disqualified.
2. The photo cannot be one that has previously been entered in any other contest, magazine, website, or other form of display.
3. The photo MUST be the original picture taken by the person submitting it. No altering, retouching, or enhancements of the photo are allowed, with the exception of a black and white photo.
The only thing left to decide is when this contest will begin and when it will end. We have to have a deadline. Also, is the prize going to be that the photo has a place as the main picture replacing Ville's? Or something else? Because if Violet wants to leave Ville up, that's fine. It's her forum. I was just wondering what the contest would be for, and what the winner will win.
Also, how will the winner be chosen? Will Violet pick the winner? Or should we have forum members cast votes? Because if we hold a vote then forum moderators can be included in the contest and can enter a photo. But if any of us is the one choosing it, then moderators are out of the contest, right? To be fair? I was thinking that if we use a voting system, we could first have a deadline for when photos can be submitted. After that deadline we can open the voting as a poll on this forum. We can have a vote deadline. And then the winner by the end of that deadline wins the contest. And the rule for that would be that if you vote, you are not allowed to vote for your own. You must vote for someone else's.
Anyway, those are just some ideas. I was thinking that if we get all this squared away, then the three of us can write a draft of the e-mail and make sure it all looks great before sending it out to members.

Well, if you want I can just put myself in charge of it. I could type out the e-mail, get it out to users, and figure out when this will happen. And how.
If you would take a look at the questions I posed in my last post and figure out what you'd like best, I can put it into action.
