Violet suggested a beauty tips thread so here I am creating one.... Does anyone have any ideas for nice interview friendly but not too boring looks that i could do? I don't really like matte brown eyeshadow, I don't mind metallic bronzes and golds e.t.c but any other color I will wear.

What is your coloring? If your not too pale plum and lavender is nice. It's dramatic but not so much I think it would put off an interviewer. A muted shade of whatever your normal colors are would work, I think, unless it's blue or green in case case it would be muted much. Think pale pink, brown( I know, ugh), gray, or light lavender.
If you only have really high pigment makeup, you could just use a tinny amount on a small brush and blend like mad from the lash up, and than use the same brush for white along your eye-brow for the high-light, and a brown or gray in the crease. I'd use a dark-brown eyeliner pencil instead of black or liquid eyeliner.
This is just what I'd do. Hope I gave you some ideas.

I do have a very nice clinique lavender/dark purple eyeshadow duo that I wear. I have very pale skin, but black hair so I can pretty much get away with any color I like. It's so difficult because when i go into shops to give my C.V I don't wanna be too gothic/emo/scene whatever you want to call it, but I don't wanna go out being boring all the time. But the idea of a off black liner is good. I do have a smashbox palette of gel liners in something like 8 colors, but I've only ever wore the black. I'm gonna have to try them out. thank you
