This particular thread is meant for fans of the acclaimed Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice. Originally, there was an entire forum dedicated to this, but now we have to stick to simple threads.
Since we are in a debate topic, and since there are new members here from which to get opinions, the questions is now being posed:
Do you agree with the moral changes that Lestat went through, and do you like the ultimate person he became at the end of "Blood Canticle?"

I don't. I think it's a phase. Like in each book Lestat goes though a phase. The whoe sanit thing is one.
If he truly did feel that way (and deep down believed it) than I think he'd found another way to kill himself. Or at lest stopped feeding. That's what I think.

I think he went soft. He was this bad ass vampire and now he wants to be a saint. Unfortunetly Anne rice is not going to write anymore novels of our beloved vampire.

Yeah I know, but to me Lestat lives on.
I'm quite mad at Anne for ending on that image of Lestat though. Like I said before he's always changing what he thinks and stands for.

I like the Lestat we continue to write about better than the Lestat Anne Rice left us with. ;D

I competely agree.
To me-to say that Lestat has changed is just pity because...he's always changed. THat's what so refreshing about him is that he's always changing his mind.

I think that this is his survival skill: if he'd stay the same, he could no longer live as a vampire. That is what Jake should understand too...
